Congratulations to director Klaudia Reynicke, an ECAL graduate, on the selection of her new feature film "Reinas" at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival 2024.
Klaudia Reynicke grew up in Peru, Switzerland and the United States. After completing a Bachelor's degree in anthropology at the University of South Florida and a Master's degree in sociology at the University of Lausanne, in 2010 she completed a Master's degree in cinema at ECAL/HEAD, with a major in directing.
Her first feature film IL NIDO (2016) was selected at the Locarno Film Festival. His second feature LOVE ME TENDER (2019) also screened at the Locarno Film Festival, participates in several renowned festivals, including TIFF, BFI London Film Festival, Sevilla European Film Festival, BAFICI and Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. His third feature film, REINAS, is scheduled for release at the prestigious Sundance 2024 Film Festival.
Reinas: "In 1992, during a difficult period in Lima, Peru, Lucia, Aurora and their mother Elena decide to move to the United States. The reunion with their estranged father Carlos means that their departure is charged with contradictory emotions such as regret, hope and fear in this story of the 90s."
