Shaping the future of cinema: ECAL listen to their graduates

Just a few days before the opening of the Locarno Film Festival 2024, where several ECAL films will be shown, ECAL and HEAD unveil the results of a survey aimed at shaping the future of cinema training. 


To guide the development of their HES-SO Bachelor's and Master's programs in Film, the Film Departments at ECAL and HEAD have collaborated to conduct a survey of their graduates. 

To carry out this project, the research and polling institute gfs.bern was commissioned to design the online questionnaire, while the Observatoire romand de la culture was responsible for organizing focus groups. This is the first initiative of its kind to be carried out among film graduates.

Two key findings emerge from the survey:

The aim is to fine-tune ECAL and HEAD film courses by analyzing the career paths and feedback on the academic experience of the last fifteen graduating classes. This information is essential for making informed decisions to improve the curricula.
