ECAL presents two exhibitions at Milano Design Week 2025
As part of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, students from ECAL's Product Design Master program collaborated with Karimoku New Standard and Presence Switzerland to design ten unique models of stackable wooden chairs. Presented at the House of Switzerland, the exhibition features these creations in a scenography exploring the dialogue between design and craftsmanship, illustrating the values and symbolism shared by Switzerland and Japan.

Japanese stories and images have shaped global pop culture, inspiring Folklore Fusion, a creative project by students in ECAL's Bachelor Media & Interaction Design program. After an immersion in Tokyo, they imagined the Swijūs, hybrid creatures blending Japanese and Swiss folklore. Presented at Milan Design Week in a scenography signed by the industrial design students, the exhibition offers an immersive experience with collectible cards, interactive map and printed publication. More than a tribute, Folklore Fusion embodies a contemporary cultural dialogue through imaginary artifacts.
