Award for the Best Swiss Film 2025 for Marvin Merkel and Noa Epars

At the Winterthur International Short Film Festival, the award for “Best Swiss Film 2025” was presented to Always Wanted To Be God, Never Wanted to Do Good directed by ECAL Bachelor Photography alumni Marvin Merkel , and Noa Epars.

Initiated by SUISSIMAGE and the Société Suisse des Auteurs (SSA), the prize of CHF 10,000.- honors outstanding achievements in Swiss filmmaking. 

“In 2009, the mountain guide Patrick Bussard sawed down a Christian cross in the Fribourg Alps. He was severely punished by the courts. In my city, I see billboards everywhere displaying Bible verses.”
