This exhibition sheds a new light on the history of the VideoArt Festival Locarno, by selecting video tapes and installations presented in the context of its first editions to reflect on a renewed spirit of the Monte Verità and its rich avant-garde and utopian experiments in the age of electronic media. Along with archives and a reproduction of the homoerotic circular painting by Elisàr von Kupffer that fits the Elisarion’s architecture, we present video works by international artists.
