Diego Marcon in conversation with Stéphanie Moisdon, head of the Visual Arts Master's program, and Paolo Moretti, head of the Bachelor & Master Cinema program at ECAL.
Born in Busto Arsizio (IT) in 1985, Diego Marcon is an artist who works primarily with the moving image. His works - films, videos and installations - combine theoretical and structural approaches to filmmaking with more sentimental motifs from popular film genres. He has had solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including at Kunstverein in Hamburg, Kunsthalle Basel, Centro Pecci in Prato, Sadie Coles HQ in London, the Venice Art Biennale and the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore. His films have been screened at international festivals in Cannes, Rotterdam, Vienna and London.
