ECAL Lecture – Making sustainability desirable
18.09.2025
Leenaards Auditorium, ECAL

ECAL presents a talk on new sustainable imaginaries with Emma Piau and Alban Mayne, questioning the role of creatives in addressing ecological and societal challenges.

How can new imaginaries help shape a more sustainable future? How can they generate concrete actions? What is the role of designers, artists and economic actors in the face of ecological, social and economic upheavals? What solutions can be found collectively? Emma Piau and Alban Mayne will open a dialogue around these questions, drawing on their combined experiences.

Alban Mayne is a director and committed entrepreneur who has collaborated with companies such as Lenovo, HP, Logitech and Beauty Disrupted. He holds a Certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge, an MBA in General Management from Northwood University and a BBA in Marketing from SKEMA Business School.

Emma Piau is an artist, designer, lecturer and consultant. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable City from the City LAB at L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, a Master’s degree in Management from IAE Nantes, as well as a teaching license obtained in Washington, D.C.
