The Prix d'encouragement 2025 de la Ville de Renens was awarded to two emerging talents from ECAL: Laura Cipriano , student in the Industrial Design Bachelor, and Yannick de Kalbermatten , student in the Type Design Master.

In Dark Matter, the two designers investigate the meeting point between rural life and industrial modernity. The exhibition reflects on how progress reshapes both materials and meaning, leaving traces of labor, warmth, and machinery in its wake. Through objects and typographic interventions, it highlights the tension between the handcrafted and the mechanical.
