Curated by Master Type Design and Bachelor Graphic Design programmes, this project presents a wide selection of 300 typefaces created by ECAL students from around the world.
Designed as an accessible "typographic atlas", this initiative revelas the visual, cultural and linguistic diversity explored at ECAL–from experimental forms to functional families and multiscript projects.
Through city names and postcodes from across the globe, the exhibition highlights how typography shapes everyday communication while shedding light on the often hidden work of type designers.
ECAL A Typographic Atlas will also be published as a 544-page book. Designed by Giliane Cachin and Eurostandard and published by Empire Editions, it offers a visual journey through alphabets, enriched with symbols, logos, and typographiy research.
Conceived as a travelling exhibition, ECAL A Typographic Atlas aims to highlight ECAL’s commitment towards contemporary graphic and type design.
