Research project, ECAL 2010
in PROJECTS / R&D RESEARCH PROJECTS (R&D)
Graphic design is a field, which depends a lot on computer tools. In this context, the project focuses on the development of methods for teaching programming to visually oriented students. The development is held by working with the software platform Scriptographer.org, improving and modifying it according to the findings and results of a series of workshops carried out with students. Throughout this process, the determining elements are:
- the observation of the way students learn how to program (scripting) using Scriptographer ;
- the writing of the documentation and tutorials of the software ;
- the improvement of the environment and the programming language based on observations drawn from students’ practice ;
- the capacity to integrate this alternative working method in the daily activity of the students.
