ECAL SOUND LAB AT NUMERIK GAMES FESTIVAL 2022
26–28.08.2022
Yverdon-les-Bains

From August 26 to 28, the city center of Yverdon-les-Bains will host the Numerik Games Festival, whose 2022 edition will be dedicated to music. The Numerik Games Festival - a public event dedicated to digital art and culture - aims to promote digital technology through the various fields it can cover: musical, cultural, artistic, patrimonial, economic and academic. The ECAL invites you to dive into the heart of the experience, whether it is immersive, interactive or playful!

From the design of tangible interfaces to the creation of instruments, through immersive sound experiences and video clips, the students of the Bachelor Media & Interaction Design of the ECAL/Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne offer you an interactive interpretation of the musical domain.

Valerio Meschi's projetct, Tone Alembic, transforms sound experimentation into a playful laboratory, thanks to its physical interface and its visual simplification of audio synthesis.

With Guillaume Giraud's project, Goko, a digital musical instrument that facilitates chord creation, explore a new way of playing music in both senses of the word.

Through these two diploma projects and a wider selection of projects combining, in harmony, new technologies, algorithms and scales, the ECAL students wish to redefine music above all through its experimental and playful properties.
