ECAL and Sede, the famous Swiss leather furniture manufacturer, present a selection of projects created by students of the Master of Advanced Studies in Design and the Luxury Industry following a workshop led by Nicolas Le Moigne, designer and professor at ECAL.
Collaboration (2012) by Camille Paillard
One of the three selected projects, Tri-Folds, is a sofa whose aesthetic is based on the fold, as a decorative element, but also as a functional one. Made up of three folds each, the armrests are lighter, more flexible and even become a storage space in which it is possible to slide magazines, remote controls or other accessories. The line formed by these successive curves forms a loop without beginning or end, accentuating the softness of the detail.
A small shelf is also associated with the sofa. It is fixed between the folds with a retractable foot and can also be stored in the armrests.
