Ponte 5

Ponte 5

One man. One bridge. Nowhere to go. Antonio is an aging man who must live on a bridge in the rough neighborhood of Laurentino 38, in the suburbs of Rome.

Studio project (2011) by Amy Wong

Documentary / 9mn

Synopsis

In the rough neighbourhood of Laurentino 38, one of the infamous subdivisions beyond the perimeter of the Grande Raccordo Anulare that circles Rome, people struggle everyday just to survive. Built in the 1970s, the tall, drab, concrete skyscrapers connected by overhanging bridges were supposed to house a vibrant Italian community. Instead, the unrelenting architecture weighs on its inhabitants. A portrait of one elderly man who not only faces his greatest obstacle everyday, but lives on it.
