Joël Passieux – Rural

Diploma project with Ian Party, Jonas Vögeli

Rural This project is the result of a typographical interpretation of the passion I share with my childhood friends to perpetuate the ancestral traditions of my region : Rural is a modern typeface although strongly inspired by archaic typographic forms. I developed two cuts, regular and display : the first optimized for use in body text, and the second for use in larger sizes. www.joelpassieux.com

Anne Zimmermann – Primetime

Diploma project with Nicole Udry, Jonas Vögeli

Primetime This project is rooted in my personal fascination with popular culture, in particular TV shows. The project focuses on the status of these shows, the way they work and cross-influences with today’s world. This project focuses on the TV stage, working as a microcosm. This work is a celebration of the genre, an ode to popular culture, and also shows the mechanisms of this paradigm. www.annezimmermann.com

Samuel Bruchez – Pistes noires

Diploma project with Gilles Gavillet, Jonas Vögeli

Pistes noires This project retraces the development of a world renowned ski resort and follows the taming of a portion of the Swiss Alps. Success arrived in the ‘50s and an idyllic image built around the resort of Verbier. But this situation was quickly confronted with all the dangers of the environment (accidents, collisions and avalanches). The question of responsibility set forth an array of rules to regulate the use of this still obstinate environment. This work taught me to work with a subject that is not only overflowing with good materials, but one I’ve been passionate about. Prix Bonnard & Gardel 2013
