Sofia Lelis – Èvokâ II

At the Cantonal and University Library of Fribourg, a presence inhabiting the archives invites visitors to engage in dialogue with the collections and explore Fribourg’s heritage. Powered by artificial intelligence, the interactive installation Èvokâ II gathers memories connected to the canton and reveals fragments of its history. This design research project explores new ways of making digital archives accessible to the public. It explores the invisible bonds that connect us to places and the ways in which individual memories come together to form a collective memory, while questioning what shapes our sense of belonging somewhere. Developed in collaboration with the Swiss Data Science Center and supported by the Swiss National Library.
