Numerik Games Festival aims to promote digital technology through the various fields it can cover: musical, cultural, artistic, patrimonial, economic and academic. ECAL is presenting a selection of projects that question our relationship with the virtual world.
From the creation of hyper-realistic CGI images to the design of immersive environments, audiovisual experiences and video clips, students from ECAL's Bachelor Media & Interaction Design programme are presenting a wide selection of projects at Numerik Games that question our relationship with the virtual world.
Merror-mirror, Nora Fatehi 's diploma project, explores the links between physical and virtual avatars through a connected object that links the two.
The Last Forest by Nathanaël Vianin transforms messages from the reddit r/collapses community into an immersive forest, to raise awareness of the consequences of climate change for our consumerist, globalised civilisation.
Through these two diploma projects and a wider selection of projects combining new technologies, interaction and immersion, ECAL students are proposing to rethink our understanding of reality in a series of positive and engaging virtual experiences.
