ECAL X KVADRAT - SUIT UP Project
ECAL X KVADRAT - SUIT UP

ECAL X KVADRAT - SUIT UP For this project, the students had to design a seat, or rather requalify and rehabilitate a chair or armchair using existing models such as the monobloc, aluminium bistro chair, or deck chair, as the base structure. Employing Kvadrat upholstery textiles, the designs had to be reversible, meaning it should not alter the existing structure. While the original function of the chair could be maintained or altered, the proposals aimed to improved the comfort and aesthetic character of the seats. RAVIOLI CHAIR by The entire project aims to enhance an affordable chair – the Transat – by bringing the chair, which is often associated with being "accessible, practical, for outdoor use," indoors and giving it a more unique and comfortable design. Using fabrics, padding materials, and a sewing machine, where technique plays a central role, the focus is on an intensive exploration of different ways to manipulate textiles in order to create an exceptional quilted pattern. The chair is completely covered, so the original shape disappears, and no association with the Transat can be made. The Transat is thus used as a framework to create a new indoor lounge chair. Some say that the best product [sustainability speaking] is the one that already exists. SUIT UP aimed to make us reflect on our relationship with furniture, the comfort it brings us and the legacy of upholstered furniture; to take a critical look at how these products are manufactured, distributed, enjoyed and discarded today. Following a selection of the projects.Strapp by Strapp utilizes the existing wooden frame of the deck chair to hold two sets of fabric loops tactfully sewn and interwoven with each other. "Strapp" can be mounted onto the chair frame during its assembly, thus becoming an integral part of the chair. The woven structure appears flat but adjusts comfortably to the person seated. The Strapp design was created to enhance the comfort of the deck chair. The material used is a cool wool upholstery fabric, making the seat soft and cozy. YUPPIE CHAIR by Yuppie Chair is a project aimed at creating a cover for the monobloc chair, thus transforming this outdoor chair into an indoor chair. The project draws more inspiration from the fashion world, as in its initial phase, it was oriented toward bridal gowns. The goal was to design a cover inspired by the yuppie style of the 1980s, using Kvadrat upholstery fabric. It was necessary to find a way to merge the language of fashion with furniture. The cinching detail evokes how tailored jackets are themselves cinched.Link by Link is a conference chair cover. Designed to instantly transform an aluminum chair into a comfortable, practical chair that can be connected to other chairs. A zipper linking the chairs allows them to be attached, providing safety and organization during gatherings at events.SIENNE by Sienne is a cover that easily fits over aluminum terrace chairs to transform them into indoor armchairs during the winter months. Thanks to two zippers, the cover can be adjusted to take shape. The edges fold over the sides, providing wide and comfortable armrests.VANO by Vano is a waterproof cover specifically designed to fit aluminum bistro-style chairs. Composed of two parts, it retains the stackability of the original chair while adding extra comfort. Terrace enthusiasts can once again enjoy the pleasure of savoring their drinks outdoors. The toggle buttons create an ingenious fastening system that gives the chair its enveloping appearance.

Athena Promises Event
Athena Promises

Athena Promises,11.10.2024,MISC Athens Following a workshop in Athens with artist Nikolas Ventourakis, students in ECAL s Bachelor of Photography programme are unveiling an exhibition that captures the contrasts of the city, between its ancient heritage and contemporary challenges. Athens, famous for its historic role as the cradle of democracy, has also been marked in its contemporary history by the financial and social crises that have rocked Greece. Recently, the city has attracted worldwide attention for major events such as the 2004 Olympic Games and the DOCUMENTA exhibition in 2017. Today, Athens is undergoing unbridled urban development, while coping with the effects of climate change. Heat waves, floods, forest fires: here, myth and reality collide, antiquity rubs shoulders with modernity, and this sprawling metropolis, home to almost half of Greece s population, becomes the scene of an ideological clash. At the heart of one of the oldest cities in the world, the students immersed themselves in a city rich in contrasts. They explored the city through documentary, staged and performative eyes. In the warm, golden sunshine, they explored a wide range of themes, from derelict Olympic infrastructure to the ambitious $8 billion housing project, The Ellinikon, as well as the testimonies of young Athenian artists. These artists, deeply attached to their roots and history, sometimes feel trapped in a city where recognition seems out of reach. Under the artistic direction of Nikolas Ventourakis, this workshop offered students in the Photography Bachelor s programme an opportunity to explore their own work. ECAL at Swiss Photomonth

ECAL at Swiss Photomonth,03.10.2024,ECAL, Renens ECAL presents “We Do The Rest”, a performative event on the occasion of Swiss Photomonth. “We Do The Rest” is a performative event that questions photographic limits. Together with artist Augustin Lignier, students in the Master of Photography program at ECAL/Ecole cantonale d art de Lausanne invite the public to an exceptional evening in their school s monumental hall. From image capture to distribution, “We Do The Rest” explores the notions of effort and bodily constraint in contemporary photographic mechanics. Through a series of sometimes spectacular, sometimes discreet and minimal performances, students in the Master of Photography program at ECAL/Ecole cantonale d art de Lausanne question, through their gestures and actions, the structure of image-making. From apnea photography to the confinement of framing, from mental images to the bubbles of social networks, all the projects test photographic limits through the body. The project, directed by artist Augustin Lignier, revisits the radical performances of the 60s in the digital age, when audiences are mainly virtual and relationships reduced to pixels. Through still images and videos, through words, movements and sounds performed for one evening only in the monumental hall of the ECAL, we invite you to experience photography differently, to immerse yourself in these simulations, for real. ECAL x AREA OF WORK - CO-EXISTENCE

ECAL x AREA OF WORK - CO-EXISTENCE ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne has teamed up with Paris-based studio Area of Work at Paris Photo to present CO-EXISTENCE, a monumental immersive installation in the heart of Paris s 11th arrondissement, from 7 to 9 November 2024. In a large metropolis, a small, seemingly empty apartment reveals discreet traces of human presence. On another scale, a conquering population manifests itself. Wings flap, slime trails, antennae shivers... In the industrial setting of the former Garage République in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, CO-EXISTENCE showcases a living cohabitation through a sequence of artificial images created using Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). These spectacular yet intimate photo-realistic projections highlight the imperceptible, the infra- thin, and the invisible, blurring the scales between micro and macro. Developed during three series of workshops conducted from 2023 to autumn 2024 by Area of Work, CO- EXISTENCE bears witness to the technical and artistic skills that are honed within the ECAL MA Photography. These workshops enabled students to transpose their photographic skills into the virtual space of 3D graphics to understand the temporal, artistic, and commercial issues involved in creating CGI. ‘This collaboration offered ECAL students an introduction to the tools and possibilities of 3D graphics, exploring their integration into the processes of creating photorealistic and hyper-realistic images, while highlighting the importance of the artistic and cinematographic dimensions that are at the heart of our identity. – Amine Ghorab & Scott Renau, Area of Work, Paris. Founded in Paris in 2018 by artists and directors Amine Ghorab and Scott Renau, Area of Work is known for its distinctive contemporary visual narratives, blending graphic framing and rigorous photographic direction. VENUEVeveyDATES & SCHEDULEFrom September 7 to 29, 2024WEBSITEimages.chFrom September 7 to 29, 2024, photography in all its forms takes over the streets of Vevey, invades the parks and strolls along the shores of the lake. For three weeks, the Festival Images Vevey transforms the small town on the Riviera and welcomes a wide audience. This year, four ECAL graduates are part of the program. Positive Illusions Diploma project by , Master Photography graduate With this project , Benjamin Freedman is reconstructing his childhood memories using CGI (Computer Generated Imagery). The artist diverts this technology, mostly used in films and video games, which requires close involvement in the creation of every object, detail and lighting. Freedman meticulously reconstructs a family roadtrip between Montreal and Maine in the United States in 1999, reproducing his point of view at the age of nine. Created for the Boéland site near the Swiss Museum of Games, the installation explores how memory shapes, transforms and simulates reality. Positive Illusions plunges nostalgically into the joyous world of childhood, fragmented by memory and reassembled by technology. Cash Me Online Diploma project by , Master Photography graduate Cash Me Online is a satirical project combining photography, performance and social media footage. Amandine Kuhlmann creates a hyper-feminine alter ego that she embodies online and during performances to achieve viral fame. She exaggerates her poses, imitates TikTok and Instagram trends and dramatizes her everyday life to make herself noticed. The artist reappropriates videos, drawing on the suggestions of her algorithm and the female stereotypes portrayed by social networks. These caricatured images reveal the ambiguities of virtual profiles, between the objectification of the body and the desire for individuality. Questioning the impact of social media and the monetisation of the self, the installation presents a reflection to a generation obsessed with their physical and digital appearance. One Last Journey , Master Photography graduate One Last Journey addresses artificial intelligence and the instant photographic process through the telling of a fictional love story. Attempting to imitate the aesthetics of the Polaroid camera, Alexey Chernikov writes short descriptions of a couple s last journey before separation on the Midjourney image-generating software. These images are then reproduced on a traditional Polaroid camera using a new printing device developed by the same company. Interested in the emotional potential of AI, the artist questions the reliability of the photographic medium. From one image to the next, the pair appears different each time, confusing the sense of reality. Using the Polaroid as definitive proof of authenticity, the project invites us to reconsider the photographic snapshot in light of AI. Get the Look! , Bachelor Photography graduate What would happen if we let algorithms dress us? This is the question Romain Mader asked himself when he founded Get the Look! He set himself a challenge: to follow the recommendations of his smartphone s algorithm and order clothes from online stores as suggested, without making any personal choices. Since the algorithm is influenced by his and his partner s browsing activity, the result would be expected to match their style and personality. In his studio, the artist adopts a number of incongruous postures. By examining the sales techniques and marketing tools used by fast-fashion websites to encourage consumption, the series ironically denounces industryinduced addiction. Through the example of fashion, Mader universally reveals the influence of algorithms on our lives.

As a young photographer being increasingly involved in the world of imagery and advertising through my professional experiences, I wanted to take a closer look at this world that both fascinates and repels me in some ways, but above all intrigues me with its ambiguous relationship to reality. I directed a short film that depicts the trajectory of a model in this industry, a fiction that aims to address several questions : the self-staging induced by the profusion of images, the mechanisms of oppression related to the creation of advertising images, the pursuit of social mobility by young generations and how this pursuit clashes with the reality of the job market.

Matilde Croxatto – them This film is an intimate exploration of masculinity through the prism of faith. We discover the testimonies of eight young men through their relationship with God. Through interviews and scenes from everyday life, they reveal the beauty and complexity of this relationship. Based on my own experience as a believer, I ve come to realise that faith, with its vulnerable and intimate qualities, can be seen as an experience that no longer affects traditional masculinity. To verify this, I gave the floor to men who choose the resilient path of faith on a daily basis. Their devotion is brought to light, an expression of the heart that goes beyond gender stereotypes and invites reflection on the humility of the individual towards an entity greater than himself.

With the help of cameras, I observe the bodies of these sixty-year-old men to explore tenderness, emotions, and the various spontaneous manifestations that emerge when they are confronted with strong emotions. These male bodies, usually under constant logical control, in the image of our culture and economy. The video shows hands, arms, faces, and eyes, sometimes embarrassed, sometimes resistant, and sometimes allowing themselves to be overwhelmed by emotions. This work has allowed me, through these men, to reconstruct my father, to confront him, and to examine my relationship with masculinity.

Between the feeling of a collective burn-out and the increasingly immersive presence of screens, virtual worlds become places of refuge and safety, but also fertile ground for interested encounters and fantasies. The screen turns into an emancipatory and formative means of connection, while increasingly distancing the individual from the tangible world around them.

The design of Get-Out 4 is based on a minimalist aesthetic inspired by early video games such as Pong, Pac-Man, and Tetris. This visual simplicity not only evokes nostalgia but is strategically employed to enhance player engagement by focusing on gameplay mechanics. This project, beyond its playful aspect, offers human interaction through the lens of gaming.

Bradley Campus – Rotonde Historically, music kiosks have been scenic landmarks, illustrating the mix of different distribution models and architectural styles. In the 19th century, they appeared in numerous catalogues and were offered by street furniture companies, who used kiosks to diversify their production. Rotonde takes up the current challenge of revitalising towns and cities to make them more pedestrian-friendly and lively. This kiosk is designed as a large, open and accessible object that encourages interaction and animation, inspired by 19th century urban planning. I decided to integrate lights and speakers, so that the kiosk could be used at night, and function as a ‘plug & play system where musicians could plug in their instruments and give a concert.

Capite

Jeanne Reymond – Capite I grew up in Chardonne, Lavaux, surrounded by vineyards. With a winemaker brother, I ve always been immersed in wine culture. In Vaud, small vineyard cabins called capites once served as tool sheds or shelters. Today, about 1200 of these capites are unused. Since March 2024, winegrowers can sell wine directly in vineyards and renovate capites to welcome visitors. My project introduces a wooden façade system to easily renovate these capites to host a few people, adaptable to various sizes. Given Lavaux s UNESCO status, the façade is discreet when closed but opens in one move to become visible from afar when open for tastings. Each façade features the local commune s flag. The goal is to promote wine tourism in Lavaux offering an intimist tasting in the heart of wine.

Eva Ayache-Vanderhorst – Il y a un ciel dès lors qu il y a une terre ou se repose les corps lourds. This immersive installation, consists of delicate, dreamlike paintings stretched over metal frames, suspended in space like windows into inner worlds. These paintings, on second-hand linen sheets as a medium, evoke evanescent landscapes, blurred figures, and fragmented scenes, appearing to float in a dimension between dream and reality, much like memories float in our minds. This space has the embodiment of the intangible barrier between the past and the present, between what we remember and what we forget, highlighting the ephemeral and sometimes deceptive nature of our recollections and its subjective fragmentation. The dagger-like pendulum, a divinatory tool, hangs above the ceiling. It refers to the tension emanating from such subjectivity.

As someone who often engages with recommended content and finds it both fascinating and sometimes worryingly accurate, I chose to closely analyse the recurring visual patterns and clusters of subjects, forms, and imagery that appear in my recommended content feed. These images serve as testimonies to a certain pattern of content, ephemeral in nature, that once floated in an ocean of visual recommendations. This project attempts to apply a human approach to a machinic logic, specifically addressing a phenomenon that appears to understand some of our thought processes better than we do.

Thus, we hide from the mortal misery that awaits us every day, as in every room of the mansion. We create meanings and explanations to comfort ourselves, except that being aware of it and accepting this absurdity is equivalent to no longer being afraid of it.

Antoine Scalese – Hypersex My diploma project is a screenplay for a feature film titled Hypersex, exploring the fantasy romance genre. It tells the story of Alfa, a young man who lends his appearance to a model of a sex android and manages to divert one sample in hopes of restoring lost intimacy with his elusive partner. Quickly, by substituting it for himself, he loses control of the situation and finds himself confronted with intense affects. This screenplay uses sexuality as a fully-fledged dramatic force within the overall narrative dynamic. Intertwined with this, the narrative rhetoric of love s return offers a queer perspective to the film, portraying the complex relationship between two male characters who, despite their selfish behaviors, choose not to give up on each other.

With kind regards Project
With kind regards

Aurelia Pleyer – With kind regards The way we work is changing. Today, we no longer stay at a fixed desk in a single place but need flexibility and movement. As we perform a variety of tasks during the day, we wish for an equally diverse range of spaces to create, concentrate, communicate, and think within. With Kind Regards proposes an open way of working on two surfaces. Sitting or standing, the furniture explores different possibilities of work situations. The simple and direct, yet versatile structure uses wood to create a warm, welcoming surrounding. Encouraging to work in new ways, With kind regards is a flexible place for both short and longer E-Mails.

Itinérant Project
Itinérant

Simon Memel – Itinérant Itinérant takes Robert Granjon s work as its starting point, producing a type family of four cuts: a text and display roman, each with a corresponding italic. The text cuts pare back some of the extravagance that Granjon was famous for, and lower the contrast in order to create type suitable for continuous setting, especially in smaller sizes. In part they draw on historical typefaces which themselves were influenced by Granjon- namely Plantin and Times New Roman. The display cuts reference the writing masters that preceded Granjon, and influenced the masters work. They restore the details that were removed in the rendering of the text cuts, and go further still, creating characters more calligraphic than Granjon, but rendered with a contemporary cleanness.

Pitch Green Project
Pitch Green

Gilian Cardaci – Pitch Green This work documents the issues surrounding a professional football field and its artificial maintenance. The turf on these pitches must be maintained to comply with the high standards dictated by FIFA to enhance the image of the sport. Specific tools have been developed to meet this demand. Pitch Green turns football on its head with a fascination for what goes on behind the scenes, creating an imagery reminiscent of science fiction. The contrast between the natural turf and these ultra-technological tools lends an absurd edge to their real purpose. These pitches, which appear perfect to the viewer, reveal the excesses of football and its corrupt business.

Shaping the future of cinema: ECAL listen to their graduates

Shaping the future of cinema: ECAL listen to their graduates Just a few days before the opening of the Locarno Film Festival 2024, where several ECAL films will be shown, ECAL and HEAD unveil the results of a survey aimed at shaping the future of cinema training. To guide the development of their HES-SO Bachelor s and Master s programs in Film, the Film Departments at ECAL and HEAD have collaborated to conduct a survey of their graduates. To carry out this project, the research and polling institute gfs.bern was commissioned to design the online questionnaire, while the Observatoire romand de la culture was responsible for organizing focus groups. This is the first initiative of its kind to be carried out among film graduates. Two key findings emerge from the survey: 77% of graduates surveyed are currently working in the film industry Nearly 2/3 of graduates surveyed would choose to study film at ECAL or HEAD again The aim is to fine-tune ECAL and HEAD film courses by analyzing the career paths and feedback on the academic experience of the last fifteen graduating classes. This information is essential for making informed decisions to improve the curricula.

I as an Island Project
I as an Island

I as an Island Like Robinson Crusoe scavenged the wrecked ship for materials to build his home, First Year Master Product Design students, guided by Chris Kabel, were invited to delve into the flotsam of their creative minds for this open workshop. The workshop began with collecting, organizing, and analyzing creative flotsam and jetsam to create a self-portrait as a designer. Unrealized projects, obsessions and fascinations, irritations, vague dreams, (bad) jokes, and ideas too weird to talk about—all these resided within a designer s mind. Beginnings already existed: inspiring photos on phones, inviting materials, first ideas hastily scribbled down, quick sketches on paper, half-baked assemblages, or flimsy maquettes. These fragments and particles were analyzed to discover the kind of designer each participant was, extracting a direction for development during the week. This process of analysis, ideation, and translation, including the ‘end result, became visible as an island, shaped and populated by each individual s design process. It featured fragile beginnings, iterations, and the choices made along the way, culminating in a final conclusion shaped by material samples, shape research, 3D sketches, the development of a mechanism, a campaign, a film scenario, or whatever else was distilled from the initial flotsam.

Magazine - 23/24 Project
Magazine - 23/24

Magazine - 23/24 As part of the publishing course led by Anouk Schneider and Chi-Long Trieu, 2nd year Visual Communication students had the opportunity to design an artist s book during the first semester. This book project stands out for its contemporary approach aimed at creating an editorial object that harmoniously integrates form and content in the current context of the editorial landscape. Students were encouraged to exploit their artistic freedom at all levels of creation, whether in terms of format, choice of paper, binding, layout, illustrations, text or typography. As part of this course, the artist s book can take shape through various illustration modalities, such as photography, reproduction, contextualization, drawing, 3D, etc. The emphasis is on the author s artistic vision and the means implemented to realize it. Students take on multiple roles as editor, curator and architect, covering the responsibilities of artistic director, designer, photographer, stylist, illustrator, typographer, editor-in-chief, and editorial secretary. This course highlights contemporary editorial design by exploring the narrative potential of a sequence of controlled content. ECAL AT LAUSANNE JARDINS Event
ECAL AT LAUSANNE JARDINS

ECAL AT LAUSANNE JARDINS,15.06–05.10.2024,Lausanne To mark Lausanne Jardins 2024, ECAL s Bachelor Industrial Design is presenting two projects designed to make the most of the shores of Lake Geneva. MIRADOR by Victoria Guffroy et Noé Chassot Mirador is a giant watery playground on the shore of Lake Geneva. Three stainless steel water cannons, arranged in a triangle, pump water from the lake and spray it over long distances, providing both fun and relief from the summer heat. Once the cannon is full, simply press the handle to propel the water in the desired direction. Fire away! PIERROT by Charlotte Dubois Pierrot—a homophone of the French words “pierre” (rock) and “eau” (water)—evokes two characteristic features of the shore of Lake Geneva. These rocky outcrops are punctuated by platforms of different sizes, small ones for crossing and large ones for relaxing on, allowing bathers to reach the lake while protecting the delicate and rare ecosystems that surround them. These platforms, constructed from wood and wire mesh filled with pebbles, hug the shape of the rocks and provide a new habitat for biodiversity to flourish. Here, the wire mesh—a popular architectural feature—holds large quantities of rocks, exploiting the weight, shape and other characteristics of this natural, locally available material.TEACHERVENUEPromenade de Vidy 7 1007 LausanneSTUDENTSMirador: Victoria Guffroy , Noé Chassot Pierrot: Charlotte DuboisDATES & SCHEDULE15.06-05.10.2024WEBSITElausannejardins.chPARTNERSMirador: Metal-System Diserens Sàrl Pierrot: Ateliers de menuiserie - Ville de Lausanne, Centre de formation C-FOR!

Service Design - 2024 Project
Service Design - 2024

Service Design - 2024 During the Service Design course, the 3rd year of the Graphic Design, Photography and Media & Interaction Design bachelors had to create multi-media projects. A collaboration of the Visual Communication department which had as subject the SDGs (*Sustainable Development Goals). The theme was called "For a good cause, make the SDGs a reality" and its objective was to allow students to develop a cause that is close to their hearts. Each project consists of at least two different media, one primary and one secondary. These projects could take any form that the students deemed relevant, be it a website, editions, posters, a video sequence or virtual reality. The SDGs are meant to be achieved globally by all United Nations member states by 2030. This entails all states equally playing their part in seeking common solutions to the world s urgent challenges. Switzerland is also obligated to implement these goals at the national level. Furthermore, incentives must be created to encourage non-governmental actors to increasingly contribute to sustainable development. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), along with their 169 targets, constitute the core of the Agenda 2030. They integrate the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development and, for the first time, place poverty eradication and sustainable development on the same agenda.Your Email s Carbon Footprint Poster & Website This project comprises a website that explores various aspects of the carbon footprint of emails and the different ways in which they contribute to CO2 emissions. To make this information more accessible, the carbon footprint figures of emails are illustrated using concrete and familiar examples for the general public, such as kilometers driven by cars or the energy consumption of household appliances. In order to raise awareness among a broad audience, we have introduced a mascot named Bob, who serves as a guide through this information. Posters summarize the three main elements of the site: the CO2 emissions from emails, solutions to reduce this footprint, and an introduction to Bob. They encourage the public to visit the website to learn more. By , & SHIEn Website & Moving Poster Our project aims to raise awareness among 18-24 year olds about the social and environmental issues of ultra fast fashion, focusing specifically on the case of the giant SHEIN. The idea is to dissect each step of the ordering process by revealing behind-the-scenes aspects through an interactive experience that incorporates social media codes. By , & back to Newspaper & Video We have created a project aimed at promoting sustainable cosmetics. This project highlights the adoption of solid cosmetics in a zero waste approach. It raises awareness and informs about an effective and simple alternative, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing sustainable solutions that are respectful of both people and the environment. By , & Anthracite Edition & video Our project aims to raise awareness among the public about the dangers of light pollution for the survival of nocturnal insects and its impact on Swiss biodiversity. The edition combines scientific popularization with photographs illustrating the impact of light, blending the poetic with the alarming. The teaser immerses the viewer in a first-person perspective, experiencing life as an insect, to demonstrate the direct effects of this invasive light and to evoke empathy among the audience. Award-winning project at the USM Design Grant competition By , & 2030CHF Magazines & instagram We have launched a magazine called 2030CHF, with an annual publication every year until 2030. This magazine examines Switzerland from a new and impartial perspective, inviting everyone to ask themselves: "Will we achieve our goals by 2030?" By , & Tue la·e consomateur·ice en toi ! Fanzine & Website We have created a fanzine and a website to inform about the capitalist logic of over-responsibilizing individuals. This project aims to provide keys to understanding the consumer condition and to encourage breaking this status by becoming agents of change, disseminating content, and taking action. By , & ECOVILLE Video game & Website The project ECOVILLE takes the form of a downloadable computer video game. Interactive and fun, it is designed to raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of preserving urban flora and fauna. The main objective is to provide children with simple ecological solutions that they can easily implement. By sharing their newfound knowledge with their parents, children become ambassadors for environmental conservation. The game also helps to develop their autonomy and critical thinking through its various stages and challenges. By , & bits & peels Book & instagram The project consists of an educational edition in the form of a cookbook, inspired by grandmother s recipes, highlighting various foods, their types, and different ways to transform their waste. These transformation methods are categorized into several categories: cosmetics, maintenance, cooking, and gardening. The edition is accompanied by Instagram posts focused on seasonal fruits and vegetables, offering tips for effectively recycling these foods. By , &

REMIND ME I'M ALIVE Project
REMIND ME I'M ALIVE

REMIND ME I M ALIVE REMIND ME I M ALIVE is a companion that combines the functions of a fidget toy with those of a personal reminder. The gadget uses information on Wifi connections in its immediate vicinity to better understand the user s environment. By examining these connections - the only gateway to the outside world - the gadget can tell whether the user is in a busy or quiet environment, and even give indications of possible stressful situations. When the user is not interacting with the device, it constantly monitors his or her status via the surrounding wifi connections. These connections provide implicit information on social conditions, working environments, infrastructures and much more. If the user does not communicate with the companion for more than six hours, it “dies” and must be resuscitated. This feature underlines the need for regular interaction and ensures that the companion is always ready for use.
