Packaging

Under the creative leadership of designers Stefano Panterotto et Alexis Tourron (Panter&Tourron), six students developed their vision of the luxury packaging using La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Luxe Cream folding box as their starting point. The students were invited to re-imagine the secondary packaging using a more sustainable approach and explore the possibilities that innovative materials, design techniques and technology offered while preserving the elevated product experience, inherent to the brand. This creative and diverse approach to finding viable solutions enhances the values of creativity and craftsmanship so essential to La Prairie. It ignites the House’s innovative mindset by further exploring technologies, materiality and shapes that are available today, for a better tomorrow.

Among the six projects developed, the nomadic kit concept, proposed by UAE student Salman Rouhani, was chosen for production. The different versions of this travel kit, adapted to La Prairie's product ranges, are now available for sale.

Johannes Seibel – Mono 4T Exhibition

by Johannes Seibel

The spatial design Mono 4T Exhibition was developed for an event of the German design manufactory Mono in collaboration with the German Design Graduates for the 40th anniversary of the Mono teapot. The core elements of the modular system are reused tea glass shipping boxes, which are stabilised by four stainless steel L-profiles fixed together with a packaging strap. A stainless-steel sheet is placed on the support structure providing a high-quality stage for the ten sculptural objects designed by the selected graduates. Text on the sheet’s bent front sides informs about the designer’s name and object title. After the exhibition, the sheets will be recycled into production. Large-format detail photos of the objects, printed on fabric banners, enhance the exhibition’s visual experience.

Today, for many, the memories that remain are only those of images taken with digital cameras. Through this continuous storage process, we offload those moments by trusting instantaneous backups. MEMOGRAM challenges this delegation by offering a time capsule in the form of tickets, accompanying our memories with textual clues and descriptions. www.memogram.ch

Gestuelle is a collection of perfume bottles that revisits the ritual of putting perfume on. With a classic spray, a fragrance is layered on the skin and you can feel the packets of molecules, while with slower and more extensive diffusion, fragrances seem immediately airier and more faceted. Each type of bottle invites you to delicately deposit the fragrance on the skin or hair with a gesture that embellishes the perfume in contact with the body. The blown and sandblasted glass container allows the natural colour of the liquid to shine through, while the cap offers a unique identity to each type of bottle in the collection.

Munch Porn World

From adoration to contempt, the packaging is captured between its status as a tempting product, driving people to buy it, and as waste. The object contains a selection of used packaging from the food retail industry. The eye-catching advertising landscapes follow one another, accumulating visual signs: colour combinations, typography, photographs, illustrations, mascots, etc. Diving into this sea of abundance, so familiar, questions the consumer's relationship with these consumer goods. Why do we know so many brands? Do we buy a product? Or the image of it?

ECAL LOCAL

with Christophe Guberan

In collaboration with a local craftsman, the students designed a reusable packaging solution suitable for production in a little series. The project aimed to enhance the value of an everyday food product while addressing current challenges related to transport, sustainability, and the second life of packaging. The intervention had to be simple, functional, and eco-friendly, offering a purpose beyond its original packaging function.
