FACE À FACE is an exploration of loneliness through two mediums: dance and graphic design. This project brings together two practices to give shape to a hybrid creation. On one hand, a choreographic piece co-choreographed with Gaia Menchini, centred on states of loneliness and then captured on video. The second medium is a publication that extends the piece. By questioning the book as an object, it is designed to be read by two people and becomes a tool for dialogue and listening. The publication thus diverts from its usual uses, creating a sensory experience. The two media interact with each other, inviting us to experience solitude both in movement and in the sharing of reading. Thus, FACE À FACE offers an experience where solitude becomes the starting point for an encounter.

The image of a garment nowadays has more reach and value in the digital space than the physical one. And as we are embracing multiple personas at an ever-increasing pace, we see ourselves consuming more garments that quickly go to waste. Base is a clothing service offering an alternative economic model and a way to reflect on the nature of garments in the physical and the digital space. What does the physical garment look like when stripped down to its primary functions? And in what contexts can the digital garment be worn?

Grappaa is an artist-run exhibition space that I began working on in early 2021. It was built based on makeshift institutional spaces, e.g. art fairs and more recently, mass vaccination centres. The walls and furniture in these mega events become modules in the landscape of barren multipurpose warehouses. For Grappaa, through a process of urban hacking, the car parks become the grid for any spatial configuration. I pay rent by the hour. It’s not cheap.

Ici Prochainement Votre Appartement is the transition from private property to public space. On the eve of moving out of the family home, but especially in view of its imminent demolition, I have placed La Maison (The House) in a brand-new space, i.e. a book. This book, more than a personal monologue, is an invitation to enter through text and image. From the gate to the garden to the door, all the way to the attic, where the library lies. Iconography drawn from this library has an impact on the layout of the entire volume. The space of the book is my playground. The quarto format conceals half of the content between the pages. It is up to the readers to decide whether or not they want to enter each room of La Maison when they visit. Welcome to my home, soon to be yours…
