TalkCity – 2023

During a one week workshop led by Gaël Hugo, students developed situational conversational agents integrating artificial intelligence. These exchanges generate associated 3D environments to provide visual support.

Workshop (2023) by Olivia Capol, Mathias Liniger, Baptiste Godart, Valère Zen-Ruffinen, Livia Schmid, Alexine Sierro

This dialogue takes the user into a discussion with a conversational agent who asks questions but isn't interested in the answers. If the discussion stops, the words collapse.

Project made by Olivia Capol & Mathias Liniger

This project takes the user into a tense couple exchange. The conversational agent plays with words, turning them against the user, thus intensifying the conflict. The visuals support this escalation by increasingly elevating the words of the discussion.

This web app takes users inside a telephone sales simulator. As soon as you pick up the phone, the conversational agent tries to sell you some products.

Reverse DIffusion – 2026

with Matthieu Minguet, Jamy Herrmann

This workshop explores the use of real-time video streams as a medium for transforming reality. Through live capture or interface-based processes, participants experiment with different ways of altering images using locally run diffusion models. The video stream is approached as raw material, opening up new perspectives on how reality can be perceived and transformed.

Yann Müller – Trame Noire

As cities light up, the night fades from our sight. Trame Noire is a night-exploration mobile app designed to raise public awareness about the impacts of light pollution on the wildlife and flora that come alive at dusk. Combining immersive experience and citizen science, the project offers a new way to observe and understand our coexistence with the living world. Guided by the seasons and natural cycles, the app invites users to explore the urban environment and capture, from one location to the next, the unique light footprint of each space. Through these explorations, Trame Noire maps a sensitive geography of the dark, bringing to light how artificial illumination alters the behavior of nocturnal life.

Grime Index is an interactive VJ-ing project that centralizes, visualizes, and enables navigation through iconic moments of grime — a chaotic genre born on London’s pirate airwaves. By turning audio data into visual identity and live signage, the project makes a performance-based, oral, and improvised culture more readable. Designed for both newcomers and longtime fans, it is built around three interchangeable modules — MC, instrumental, and lyrics — honoring the culture of sampling, MCing, and mixing. Diarization, transcription, dynamic typography, and real-time effects combine to reveal grime’s living and navigable memory.

What’s The Prompt?

with Cyril Diagne

During a week workshop given by Cyril Diagne, second year students explored the integration of machine learning tools in their creative process. By limiting the coding step in favour of using the concept of Prompt they experimented with Diffusion Models such as GPT3, Clip or DALL-E to create texts, images and videos. Comparing the way our brain seems to make our dreams and the way some AI models work, Elina Crespi used some Diffusion Model to represent her dreams.
