Much Faster, Much Slower Second year Interaction Design students developped a messaging app centered around the theme of “Much Faster / Much Slower”. The goal is to create a unique mobile messaging app that offers a distinctive experience compared to existing instant messaging apps. The project explores the impact of technology on our relationship with speed and communication. It focuses on how advancements in technologies have shaped our experiences and preferences for speed. The project also looks at the role of instant messaging apps in changing the way we communicate and interact, taking up a significant amount of our daily engagement time. The goal is to translate this fascination with speed and slowness into innovative interaction design concepts related to communication. NOMAD NOMAD aims to elevate conversations with loved ones, creating a sense of special and unique moments where both parties feel truly connected. This is achieved through key features such as appointment management, live streaming during chats, and a typewriter tool that adds a natural flow to the conversation. By combining space and time into one platform, NOMAD elevates the essence of meaningful conversations. By Viktor GagnéBOUNCY BOUNCY is a messaging app that uses simple shapes to chat with your friends. The use of these shapes quickly gives the appearance of an abstract and funny conversation. The messages in the system come to life through interaction, allowing the user to personalize their messages with shape, color, and emotion. The elasticity and physical properties of the messages add a dynamic quality as they bounce off one another. As a result, the conversation becomes an abstract representation of shape and color, showcasing the messages history. By Julie TurinSOUNDS LIKE YOU SOUNDS LIKE YOU is a unique app that connects people through their shared love of music. The app assigns a color-coded genre to each user and offers a built-in radio and database to personalize the listening experience. To start a conversation, users answer 10 questions based on their musical data, unlocking the ability to chat freely with others. By Jérémie KursnerSCRABBLES SCRABBLES is a messaging app that adds a fun twist to communication. Users send messages by playing games like Pictionary, Tic Tac Toe, Battleship, and Heads or Tails. In Scrabbles, users can play simultaneous games or send challenges to friends. This creates a playful and entertaining way to communicate, reminiscent of classic paper games. Whether looking for a fun distraction or a unique messaging experience, Scrabble offers a creative and enjoyable way to connect with friends. By Ayten Gönel

So how can we live better Beyond questions of functionality, comfort and individual or collective well-being, the built environment is able to respond in a stimulating way to societal, energy and environmental challenges. The work space, the living space, the public space, the interior space, the street, are carried by real statements of intent that motivate their forms, following certain principles such as climate transition, densification, ecology and energy transition.... The 2nd year Graphic Design students worked on the production of a communication based on one of these principles (or others) and on the architectural realization which refers to it in order to promote it. A ZANG MEYONG Edition Through this object, my mother was able to transmit to me the complexity of memories as an immigrant in a country that is not her own. With the help of archival photos, archival texts, and her actual words translating letters received from my grandfather, I immersed myself in the transmission of memories between my grandfather, my mother, and me, using her memories as a pivot of transmission between the past and the future. By Midi Minuit Edition & Animation The goal of the project is to tell a story through my filmed experiences and my thoughts written on paper, recomposed to tell a personal story of a woman who dares to appropriate the urban space, despite the innate fear she feels within herself. The visual part and the writing complement each other, the filmed part being an immersion in her skin, where the viewer travels the city through her point of view. The editing acts as subtitles to the video. It reflects her thoughts, feelings and interactions, the poetry of moments of solitude, of contemplation through the act of strolling. By DSE Edition DSE is a book about prisons, one of the most controversial environments in our justice system. They are supposed to be places where criminals are punished and rehabilitated, but they are often criticized for their overcrowding, lack of resources, and inhumane conditions of confinement. By VELVET FLOWERS Edition Velvet flowers questions the different feelings that abandoned places can evoke. When reading the work, a nostalgia settles in, then it s the turn of anxiety and uneasiness. We can feel different traces and imprints left by entities, human or not. The experience is transcribed through silver photographs, pages of dense texts and fragments of the place. The feeling of déjà vu submits us to a question of temporality that cannot be defied and questions the fact that we are never in the right traces. By SITTERWERK CATALOGUE Edition Umberto Eco said: "The most important function of a library is to help the reader discover books that he or she did not know existed and that turn out to be of great importance to him or her. In the Sitterwerk library in St. Gallen, books are put down as they please and temporary collections are created. Sometimes unrelated books are placed together on the same shelf. By eliminating all classifications, we leave room for the unexpected. Searching for a particular book is no longer the main objective, it is the experience of the place that takes precedence. This object follows a reflection around the book, taking as subjects of experiment a selection of 100 publications with as criterion of selection their format which must be between an A4 and an A3. The books were taken from the catalog of the Sitterwerk library. By

ECAL TOYS WITH ARTEK,09.01–04.02.2023,Artek Helsinki Store From January 9 to February 4, 2023, Bachelor of Industrial Design Bachelor students present a selection of playful objects for children created in collaboration with the Finnish furniture company Artek, and under the direction of the designer Julie Richoz. The exhibition will take place in the brand s store in Helsinki.

Summer University Finland — ECAL toys with ARTEK Teaming up with iconic Finnish furniture company Artek, Bachelor Industrial Design students, under the guidance of designer Julie Richoz, present a collection of playful objects for children made from salvaged b-quality, rejected and half- finished materials and offcuts. Staying true to the spirit of Artek and its founders, the products promote conscious manufacturing and seek to highlight the natural materials that have gone into producing these designs. The resulting collection made of up-cycled components features a modernist inspired dolls house, a convenient wagon to move toys and other things around, quirky plush toys in the form of fish and sea creatures, a minimalist sledge to enjoy the snowy Lapland winter, a hanging ladder to reach for the stars, mesmerising marble mazes, a tiny theatre for a spontaneous play with your best friends, and a handy clothes rack to help tidy up your children s room after a busy day – to name just a few.During our journey in Finland, students were able to visit multiple manufacturers, craftsmen, designers and cultural landmarks such as: Fiskars scissors factory, Artek main wooded furniture factory, Iittala glassblowing plant, up and coming Vaarnii founder, and several historical buildings from famous architect and designer Alvar Aalto, including his house and studio, to name only a few. In partnership with the iconic finish design brand Artek and the Fiskars Village Art & Design Biennale, the students discovered the bountiful nature that inspires and nurtures Finnish industry and craftsmanship, one of the pillars of contemporary Scandinavian design. This project was made possible with the kind support of the Summer University programme of the Board of Higher Education (DGES) – State of Vaud.RELATED EVENTS

Widely considered to be among the leading art and design institutions themselves, the ECAL approached internationally renowned designers, critics, and writers, whose answers reveal multiple approaches to teaching, in which individual style is not only encouraged, but rigorously pushed to develop into its most coherent professional form. Curated by acclaimed designer Jonathan Olivares and ECAL Director Alexis Georgacopoulos, the exhibition surveys a selection of twenty groundbreaking and defining projects by students and their tutors, all of them made out of fascinating teaching methods, leading to unconventional objects and revealed by a creative methodology in action, readily molding to accommodate the needs of the future. The exhibition shows a selection of these iconic projects and retraces their design process through a historical context. In other words, it challenges the question “How to best teach design today?”. A question that Max Bill and Ettore Sottsass tried to answer in 1983 in the context of the Design Since 1945 exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Their answer? Each gave a response that reflected his own image: the first emphasized the pragmatism and practicality of design. The second, its utopian and metaphorical character. These two lines of thought are found at the heart of the exhibition through its scenography: from the eccentric and colorful glass material to the functional and straightforward wooden structure, the exhibition answers the question in itself: there is not one but many best ways to teach design today. Beside the exhibition, the findings are also presented in a publication, published by Phaidon and edited by Jonathan Olivares et Alexis Georgacopoulos.

ECAL x On 2040 Master Product Design students from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne have created, in collaboration with Swiss brand On Running, shoe soles of the future. Under the guidance of Christophe Guberan, guest designer of MA Product Design and support of Thilo Alex Brunner, head of design at On, students explored within the context of the year 2040, concept shoe soles. The outcomes range from exploring the use of new materials and processes, to reinterpreting and re-contextualising common place aspects of todays world, all with a focus on future performance. A select number of the designs were developed into elaborate prototypes and exhibited at On s new headquarters in Zurich in collaboration with works from other ECAL MA s photography and Type Design. Developed Concepts:By Paul Rees: HOW TO CREATE THE SENSATION OF EFFORTLESS FLOATING DURING THE RUN? Inspired by the feeling of jumping on a trampoline, this shoe sole is composed of two elements: a customisable elastic web and a hollow EVA sole. This new construction offers a new running dynamic.By Clemens Neureiter : REIMAGINING THE CARBON-PLATE FOR RUNNING SHOES Pushing the expression of a shoe sole to its limits, this carbon fibre rod sole plays with the elasticity and the resistance of this highly technical material to create a good cushioning and to minimise both material usage and weight.By Tsubasa Koshide: HOW TO CREATE A SHOE SOLE WITH A CUSTOMISABLE BALANCE? Thanks to new multi-material 3D printing techniques, this shoe sole concept offers the possibility to customise material densities across the entire component. Each Shoe can therefore be precisely adapted to each runner.By Stefan Troendle: HOW TO MAKE A WOVEN SHOE SOLE ? Playing with new possibilities of 3D weaving, this shoe sole concept could be produced in one part allowing for both customisable cushioning and efficient production.By Antoine Jacquat: HOW TO PRODUCE SOLES WITHOUT MOULDS? 3D printing technologies are offering various new possibilities to the footwear industry; however, processes are often limited by slow production cycles. Instead, this concept uses a heat inflating 3D printed foam to allow for post-printing expansion, making production more efficient and feasible whilst benefiting from the free design constraint possibilities of 3D printing. By Lukas Lüttgen: HOW TO CREATE AN ADAPTIVE SOLE? Composed of recycled TPU, this concept shoe sole is designed to bio-mimic the fin-ray effect whilst being produced by traditional extrusion process. By Manuel Steffan: WHAT COULD BE THE LIGHTEST, YET HIGH PERFORMING RUNNING SOLE? This shoe sole concept utilises a 3D printed thread structure to both reduce the quantity of material required and allow for customisable sizing and compression density.Exhibition at On Headquaters:

ON 2040 - MASTER PRODUCT DESIGN Following a collaboration with the Swiss avant-garde brand On, ECAL is proud to present the interdisciplinary work carried out jointly by the 2nd year students of the Product Design, Photography and Type Design Masters. Under the direction of Christophe Guberan, guest designer of the MA in Product Design and with the support of Thilo Alex Brunner, head of design at On, 7 students present elaborate prototypes exploring the possibilities offered by innovative materials, techniques, and creative processes. A resolutely prospective approach that relies on speculative design to think the sole of tomorrow. In 2010 On created a new running shoe sole with a disruptive approach: CloudTec®. Built around a set of “flexible elements”, On soles ensure cushioned landing and propulsive take-off for a unique running sensation. This design has since been adopted by running enthusiasts and professionals alike. Nowadays, the search for new materials and technologies encourages the brand to explore the future of soles. It is in this perspective that the collaboration between two leading entities in the Swiss design scene – ECAL and On – was born.HOW TO CREATE THE SENSATION OF EFFORTLESS FLOATING DURING THE RUN? Instead, this concept uses a heat inflating 3D printed foam to allow for postprinting expansion, making production more efficient and feasible whilst benefiting from the free design constraint possibilities of 3D printing. ECAL×On : interdisciplinary collaboration to rethink the brand s universe Following a collaboration with the Swiss avant-garde brand On, ECAL is proud to present the interdisciplinary work carried out jointly by the 2nd year students of the Product Design, Photography and Type Design Masters. It is in this perspective that the collaboration between two leading entities in the Swiss design scene – ECAL and On – was born. Through a transversal approach to innovation, 26 students on a Master s programme at ECAL have developed a series of futuristic prototypes, rethinking the brand s universe, and exploring new writing systems. The interdisciplinary project brings together three Master s programmes: MA in Product Design, MA in Photography and MA in Type Design. Each year, these specializations attract students from all over the world.Product Design Under the direction of Christophe Guberan, guest designer of the MA in Product Design and with the support of Thilo Alex Brunner, head of design at On, 7 students present elaborate prototypes exploring the possibilities offered by innovative materials, techniques, and creative processes. A resolutely prospective approach that relies on speculative design to think the sole of tomorrow. Photography Under the guidance of the photographer Maxime Guyon, 8 students have given shape to what On s visual universe could be in the future. In close collaboration with the MA in Product Design, they present the universe and visual identity of the sole of 2040. Type Design Under the direction of Larissa Kasper, artistic director invited by the MA in Type Design, 11 students question the construction of written language, and explore its futuristic developments, both alphabetical and ideographic. For On, they offer a new writing system, which will accompany the sole of the future.STUDENTSProduct Design : - - - - - - Photography : - - - - - - - - Type Design : - - - - - - - - - - UNDER THE DIRECTION OFProduct Design : Christophe Guberan Photography : Maxime Guyon Type Design : Larissa KasperHEADS OF PROGRAMMESProduct Design : Photography : Type Design :

Valentina Parati – Spotter The place becomes time Space becomes mine On the one hand we have reality, a delicate analysis of the place of observation, a meeting place for enthusiasts but also for children who enjoy dreaming and watching planes; on the other hand, we have a magical, transformative part: an airport that comes alive and produces music in the absence of people. Combining these two characteristics, I decided to transform the airport, not into a place of observation, but of listening, a place to appreciate repetition. Spotter is an invitation to listen with your eyes and watch with your ears.

Sunna Margrét Þórisdóttir – Five Songs for Swimming Five Songs for Swimming is an installation project that is divided into three parts: vinyl, book and performance. The vinyl consists of five original songs inspired by the late Unnur Ágústsdóttir, a swimming queen from the 40s who grew up on an isolated island in the Atlantic. The book titled An Insufficient Guide to Writing a Lullaby is written around the songs recorded on the vinyl in relation to the subject of the lullaby and daydreaming. A bright velvet fabric marks the space where the songs are performed.

Massimo Del Gaudio – Le défilé (Sound) I worked on Michail Galanopoulos graduation film: Le défilé. I went to Greece in November 2021 to work on the film as sound recordist and location mixer. I then worked on the post production as sound editor, sound designer and mixer. Fiction / 24 min Synopsis A group of high school students meet to participate in the national parade with their school. A student, is bullied by the teacher because of her nationality. They react, defend her and the conflict becomes intense. To avoid the consequences, they decide to run away. They settle on the top of a nearby hill and spend the rest of the day there, as an act of escapism. Up there, they seem to have forgotten their anxieties and problems, as if they were in another world. Student s comment I worked on Michail Galanopoulos graduation film: Le défilé. I went to Greece in November 2021 to work on the film as sound recordist and location mixer. I then worked on the post production as sound editor, sound designer and mixer.

Antoine Flahaut – The Parade (Editing) The editing of this film was a meticulous balancing act, consisting less of searching for clean and sophisticated cuts than of finding for each scene the brutality, the power, the troubled swirl of emotions that inhabit this group of teenagers fleeing through the streets of Athens. Student s comment To embody the energy of a rebellious adolescence in search of self, which is at the heart of the story of his film, Michail decided to give his young actors (amateurs and non-professionals) freedom of space and movement in scenes designed as long improvisations followed by a camera that stuck to the bodies of the characters. The editing was a meticulous balancing act, consisting less of searching for clean and sophisticated cuts than of finding for each scene the brutality, the power, the troubled swirl of emotions that inhabit this group of teenagers fleeing through the streets of Athens.

Michail Galanopoulos – The Parade (Direction) A day in the life of a group of high school students in Athens, Greece, during the day of the national military parade. Student s comment The film s cinematographic approach is anthropocentric and strongly focused on the characters of the story. The use of handheld camera allows us to follow multiple characters, not limiting the actors movements, but also giving them the freedom to experience the real locations in which they are filmed. The editing, with breaks in the axis several times in the duration of a scene, connecting several shots that depict the same action and pass from one character to another, was chosen specifically for this type of cinematography. The sound establishes continuity throughout each scene.

Jiahui Huang – The mountains are still growing (Editing) Laurence, a Parisian in her fifties, is spending a few days in an isolated holiday cottage in southern France. There she meets Antoine, the young owner of the place. Antoine is a little boorish and macho and tries to seduce her. But Laurence is there for a specific purpose: to give him a letter containing a secret. Fiction / 30 min Synopsis Laurence, a Parisian in her fifties, is spending a few days in an isolated holiday cottage in the Lozère, in southern France. She has really come here to meet Antoine, 27, the owner of the property and to give him a letter. As they try to get to know each another, a strange atmosphere develops between the two of them. Laurence finds it really difficult to give him the envelope and reveal what is inside. Student s comment During my two years of study, I learned the skills necessary to become a professional film editor (AVID editing software, sound collaboration, colour grading). Workshop after workshop, I learned from my teachers and classmates how to think like a professional film editor: how to convey the emotions of the audience; when to slow down the pace and when to speed it up; what shots to select; how to communicate with the director to help them make the film they want, as it was the case with Marie Chemin.

Thomas Manil – Lemanne Jewellery is a product, the result of know-how, that raises questions about its materials, manufacturing techniques, aesthetics, etc. From high jewellery to costume jewellery, via the stances taken by contemporary jewellers, the jewellery sector – whether it comes under the heading of craftsmanship, art or design – has found its way into innovation and creativity. Lemanne is a collection of jewels inspired by the Lake Geneva region, which makes use of its traditional know-how. The refined combination of pearls, made from pure guanine of fish scales from Lake Geneva, combined with manufacturing processes and fishing techniques, generates the DNA and character of the project in its entirety.

Mahalia Taje Giotto – Existential Boner existential boner is a book about obsessions. Obsessions linked to the body, gender identity, sexuality and desire. Mahalia Taje Giotto, born in 1992, was assigned female at birth. Going through several phases of physical transformation - from writing on their skin as a child to tattoos as an adult and eating disorders as an adolescent - Taje began their transition in 2020. This identity journey is at the heart of their work, which expresses the incessant thoughts that drive them through a play of superimpositions. The daily observation of physical changes is transcribed in images and texts, somewhere between abstract and concrete. The result is an articulated chaos that reflects the way in which taje is experiencing their transformation, with a sculptural approach to the book as a reflection of the changes in her body. The artist explores their desires and fluid identity, while giving visibility to the transgender community from which they come.

Laura Zsófia Csocsán – Neureal The book Neureal features an exploration of AI software that was tested on a series of images. Glitches and the software s “residues” expose the neural filter s activity, which colourises black and white photographs. The visual material highlights different scenarios in relation to our technology-influenced, everyday lives, shown in contrast with images of flowers and nature. They ultimately construct an alternate reality created by the programme. Neureal Display is a reverse-contrast sans, accompanied by a Mono version designed for small sizes. Initial drawings based on visual distortions were extrapolated, generating new ideas with mathematical calculations. The final typeface consists of these revised and redrawn shapes as a result of this back-and-forth experimentation with the software.

Stefan Fitze – Remo & Rhea Remo & Rhea is a typeface family based on the proportions of Roman square capitals as found in the inscription on the tomb of the children of Sextus Pompeius Justus (2nd century AD) on the Via Appia in Rome. Linked by their common origin – an apocryphal sketch of the development of Roman Type – Remo Sans and Rhea Serif intrinsically evolved into a set of two emancipated yet related typefaces, expanding the notion of the traditional type family. Consisting of a sans serif (Remo) and a serif typeface (Rhea) with a typewriter complement, the family is explicitly built for text-heavy and typographically complex environments, offering a wide range of possibilities for contemporary typesetting.

Mathilde Rietsch – Glacier Memories Glacier Memories is a publication that deals with the impact of melting glaciers on the Swiss landscape. It is based on the premise that the perception of our environment is the result of a subjective construction mixing experience, memory and narration. The book is based on the model of the four poles of landscape perception developed by Swiss professor Norman Backhaus and brings together a plurality of views on glaciers. It addresses in particular questions of memory, loss and mourning in relation to the landscape. Making visible what cannot be physically observed, it leads readers to question their relationship with the environment, as well as the legacy of past societies and the one bequeathed to future generations.

Léonard Vazquez Vila – Do not Seek this Word In order to translate the madness of the procedures, to explain our ability to recognise and expand, we must repeat the explanation that can only succeed. From the same two heads to the same intelligence, the very ability to fear only spells as it goes without examples. The imposition of self to self, where only small changes in learning and repeating must be understood in their true sense: the derisive power to unveil things. The properties of the madman, the freedom of renouncing difference, the guts and the coincidence of the tools of language do their work. Beyond the transparencies of the mind, the discourse of the circle arises. The desire to communicate with others and to read everything like an arbitrary thinking being.

Flavio Visalli – Forde Mustang "And if a double-decker bus crashes into us To die by your side is such a heavenly way to die." I was looking at these hills of wheat that reminded me of distant landscapes. Those that the wind outlines during stormy nights. The black anvil is freed from its weight and becomes sensitive to blows. I was thinking about your message, it reminded me of the howling sound of a V12. Carbon fibre, oak and acrylic paint

Alexandre Brunisholz – Erosio The gorge, a reflection of time and of the power of nature, is a witness to the Earth s transformation. Over the millennia, the passage of water has gradually carved a path in the depths of the Earth, creating a natural ruin with organic shapes and a mystical atmosphere. This project was developed based on the erosion of rock by water through the study of a selection of 12 Swiss gorges. A silver jewel created for each of the gorges was given back to nature, thanks to a machine that accelerates deterioration through a tumbling process with elements taken from each of the 12 sites. Erosio is a look book of this jewellery collection, documenting the research locations as well as the working process developed.

Anaelle Iglesias Carballo – In Order to Bloom In Order to Bloom is a documentary project that follows the story of four people on their journey to recover from eating disorders (ED). As these are often associated with false beliefs, the project aims to deconstruct them by giving a voice to those affected. The transcription of the discussions recreates the intimacy of each meeting. Pages of quotations are inserted into the narrative, and the words blend until we find ourselves immersed in the head of a person affected by ED.

Alice Monguzzi – Antonio Boggeri What answers can found objects provide? I come from a family of graphic designers: my father, his father before him, and my great-grandfather, Antonio Boggeri – four generations, four practices, but a common core. To understand where we come from, where I come from, there are traces, objects that get people talking, that bring back to memory; objects to get to know him, my grandmother s father; objects that remain – in our homes, in boxes. To get closer to him, I give voice to a woman, my grandmother. Through her, through the stories that arise from his relics, I try to draw a portrait of a man I never knew. This book bears witness to a transmission, the trace of an attempt to find one s place in a form of heritage that we all carry.

Tania Praz – Home Is Where Everything Starts The creative process and space as a musical universe is the basis of this project which analyses the Bedroom Music movement through different media and artists. With the help of six musicians, an analysis of Bedroom Music was carried out. This project presents a musical movement that links intimacy with performance, a DIY approach with a professional one, or solitude with sharing. This work aims to transmit the contrasted and complex universe of this movement. The project is divided into three parts: an intimate, sincere video, a book as a presentation of the movement, and a set design hosting live performances as a conclusion of the research process. These three media respond to each other in a common presentation aiming to immerse the audience in this universe.

Aurélien Uberti – Owning Language The Owning Language project deals with the ownership of language through two chapters: the first chapter, Rainbow Library, facilitates learning through a catalogue of stencils for kindergarten teachers. With this tool, they are able to draw spelling hopscotches on the floor with chalk. The device enables pupils to learn and recognise digrams (combinations of two or more letters forming a sound) while associating reading with movement, thus reinforcing memorisation. The second chapter, bootleg(s), goes beyond this idea of integrating linguistic norms, giving the possibility of creating thousands of alternative spellings from the sounds of a word. The obtained results question the edges of comprehension as well as the legitimacy of norms.

Masen Al-Saghir – Jabal Jabal is a collection of plastic-free, repairable and recyclable mountain jackets. It consists of a jacket and a down jacket. The fastening has been redesigned with a fold system, without zips. It also allows the width of the jacket to be adjusted according to the number of layers worn. Jabal is made entirely of durable materials: high-density woven cotton, waxed cords and aluminium fasteners. The seams are heat-sealed with natural adhesive. The down jacket is filled with milkweed, a plant that is as light as feather but twice as insulating. No chemicals or watering are required for its production. The materials can be separated for easy recycling. Resin-impregnated patches are provided to repair snags.

Clara Bertière – Yum During a visit at the CHUV, I noticed that there were no specific dishes for small children. Parents most often have to bring their own glasses or cutlery. This is why I created Yum, a set of tableware accessories for hospitalised children. The silicone set includes a children s plate rim for children who can only use one arm, a holder for glass jars, and handles to slide over cutlery which help improve the child s grip. With Yum, children are more autonomous and eating becomes more enjoyable thanks to the colours and shapes. Meals become a moment of conviviality with the handles of the cutlery that turn into playful companions!

Constance Thiessoz – MBK MBK is a mobile bookshop that moves around to promote and sell books easily. This bookshop can be used for a temporary indoor or outdoor event such as a book fair, an exhibition or a design week. Its compact structure, on wheels, makes it easy to transport and move. MBK is composed of a display for books that unfolds on one side and on the other side a seat that also unfolds to browse the books. In the centre of the structure, drawers are placed to store them. An umbrella can be integrated in the centre of the bookshop to provide shelter from the sun.

Angèle Marignac-Serra – Isula Anima « As everything regenerates, I wander the island of my ancestors. This book captures my encounter with the souls of this place and the invisible realm. I am confronted with a harsh and confidential geological world. None of my close family members reside there anymore. The various protagonists constitute clues, traces bearing the three kingdoms of the living. They become my clan. I become an archaeologist of this land. Animated by ancestral vernacular beliefs, the landscapes become anthropomorphised. It is a tribute to the secret nature, to the imperceptible, in search of a face in the stone, the trees, the sky. I leave room for my imagination and fantasise modern ruins like posthumous signs. The border with death becomes more and more tangible.»

Basil Pérot – As Long as You Wait This short film is about expressing our inability to come to terms with reality, especially during traumatic events. To reach this state of osmosis, we try to observe, feel, and listen as intensely as we can. This is how Pola s character tries to grasp reality, as she slowly sinks into madness, between paranoia and identity crisis. The project appears as a transcription of Pola s point of view and of the feelings she experiences. A book will compile Pola s thoughts that she writes throughout the film in a burst of lucidity through which she tries to convince herself that what she is experiencing is real.
