This piece questions the concept of avatar, the improved version of the self, through the metaphor of birth and, by extension, of Creation. The installation immerses the viewer in the very core of human existence, within the material hyperreality of the body, creating a confusion about the truth of the avatar, the digitally-constructed image and the divine. Coming alive thanks to 3D animation and motion capture technologies, the alter ego highlights the promotion of human life as a commodity in an age of late capitalism, raising larger ethical issues about our modern societies.
